Buddhist religious sites

First of all, we visit Boudhanath which is the sacred and religious place and then move towards the Kapan monastery. Kapan monastery is situated in the very peaceful environment. Similarly, after visiting those places we visit Swayambhunath Stupa, Bonpo Monastery and Patan Golden Temple (Verna Mahabhihar).

 After sightseeing over Kathmandu we drive towards Pokhara and stroll around Lakeside. Next early morning you can have a wonderful sunrise view from Sarangkot. During the daytime, we visit Tibetan Monastery, Seti River George, Tibetan Refugee Camp, Devi’s fall and Japanese Stupa. We then continue our religious journey towards Lumbini from Pokhara.

Lumbini is the birthplace of Gautam Buddha which carries religious importance and is a very important holy place for Buddhists. There we visit the Japanese Temple, Chinese Temple, Asoka Pillar, Vietnam Temple, Maya Garden, Buddha Stupa and the spot where Gautam Buddha was born. After visiting those holy places we then return back to Kathmandu. During the whole tour, you can get more and more knowledge of Buddhist religion, culture and tradition from the deep level.

  • Day 01Arrival in KathmanduYou will be warmly welcomed at the airport by our office representative and transfer to hotel. Your trekking guide will give a brief explanation of the Buddhist tour program at the hotel. In the evening free time, you can visit around the Thamel area. O/N at hotel.
  • Day 02Sightseeing in Kathmandu (Bouddhanath and Swayambhunath Stupa)After having breakfast, we go to visit the historical and UNESCO world heritage sites of Kathmandu City escorting with our city tour guide. Today, we will visit two Buddhist shrine sites (Boudhanath and Swyambhunath stupa). Firstly, we observe Buddhist pilgrimage site that is "Swyambhunath" which is well known as monkey temple of Nepal. We will see lots of monkeys around Swyambnunath and visit the important part of the stupas. And then we move towards Bouddhanath stupa. It is one of the world largest Buddhist stupas where over 50 Tibetan Gompas or monasteries lies. Especially the monks of this stupas are from Tibet. Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 03Visit Namo Buddha and back to hotelIn this day, we take a short and scenic one hour drive towards Namobuddha which lies in Dhulikhel. Dhulikhel is a beautiful traditional Newar town where we trek gradually uphill about 1750m to reach Namobuddha. During the trek, we pass via beautiful terrace farming fields with breathtaking mountains views. Then we reach towards our destination Namobuddha. Namobuddha is anciently sacred destination for Buddhist. The monastery is surrounded by beautiful Tamang settlements. You can see many Buddha's stupas on the hilltop too. You will get surprised by the number of temples, variations in landscapes and diversity of people living in harmony. After spending time in Dhulikhel, we drive back to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at Hotel inclusive bed and breakfast.
  • Day 04Drive to Lumbini (Birth Place of Lord Buddha (Siddhartha))After having breakfast, we drive about 9 hours towards Lumbini - the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Lumbini lies in the Terai region of Nepal which has more flat land. Because of the low altitude, the weather gets hotter here except in winter. However, Lumbini is the most important Buddhist holy site. Stay overnight at Hotel inclusive bed and breakfast.

  • Day 05Lumbini Exploration DayToday, we will visit the world's famous religious and historical places of Lumbini. The area is surrounded by the monuments, temples and ancient sites. Lumbini is also listed in the UNESCO world heritage site. We will visit Mayadevi temple, where Lord Buddha was born and Pushkarni Pond where the baby Siddartha was given his first bath after the birth. There are many Buddhist temples found by the devotees from the different countries. An inscription on a pillar erected by Maurya Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC authenticates that the Buddha was born at this spot. Now archaeological excavations have discovered the marker stone at the basement of the Maya Devi Temple. It is believed to have been laid there by Emperor Ashoka to denote the exact spot where Buddha kept his foot on Earth.Stay overnight at HOTEL inclusive bed and breakfast.
  • Day 06Drive to PokharaAfter breakfast in the morning, we take a drive about 7 hours towards Pokhara. Pokhara is one of the clean and beautiful scenic city of Nepal. It is also called the city of lakes. You can enjoy the view of the panoramic views of mountains like Fishtail, Dhaulagiri etc. Stay overnight at HOTEL inclusive bed and breakfast.
  • Day 07Visit Buddhist Gompas and Monasteries in PokharaThis day we will visit some of the Buddhist places of Pokhara and also enjoy the nature's beauty. Firstly, we will visit World peace stupa which is constructed by Buddhist monks from the Japanese Nipponzan Myohji organization above the Phewa Lake. From the top of the stupa, we can enjoy the splendid view of mountains as well as Pokhara valley. And then we will visit the Malepatan monastery. We also make another hike to Hyangja which is the site of Tibetan refugee camp who escaped Tibet after the Cultural Revolution in China. Finally, We will do boating on Phewa lake and stay overnight at HOTEL on B/B plan.
  • Day 08Drive Back to KathmanduToday is the last day of the trip. After breakfast, we will take a drive back to Kathmandu. During the free time, we can go for a Shopping in Kathmandu. O/N at Hotel.
  • Day 09Departure to your destinationToday is your departure day, we will drop you to the International airport to catch your flight back to your home and pray for your Safe journey.
